Get It Right First Time!!
Why do councils need to set a budget?
Not only does the law require all councils
to determine budgets and calculate the
amounts they need to raise through taxation
but the budget is the master plan. Once
approved, the budget becomes the authority
for incurring the expenditure set out
within. The importance of an annual
budget can never be over overstated.
Establishing the required budgets within
rigid deadlines is a complicated and
daunting process, demanding expert advice
from accounting specialists. Considering the
impact on council finances, ‘getting it
right the first time’ is the only option.
